About & method
What this site is
Flamingo Watch collects news about the “Flamingo Revolution” protests in Albania and about Edi Rama's government in one place, from Albanian and international media. We include outlets with a wide range of viewpoints and do not label them.
How it works
- Every 10 minutes, a program reads the RSS feeds of 22 outlets plus keyword searches. It's fully automated, with no human editor.
- A keyword filter (Albanian and English) picks articles that may be on topic.
- For each new article, an AI (Anthropic's Claude Haiku) reads only the outlet's headline and short teaser, and writes a 1–2 sentence title and summary in English and Albanian, plus topic tags. Articles about the same event are grouped into one card.
- We store only the headline, outlet name, time, link and our own summary. Never the full text. To read an article, follow the link to the original outlet.
What we don't do
- We don't fact-check. Summaries only restate what the outlet published. If a headline contains a claim, it remains the claim of that outlet or the person quoted.
- The AI can make mistakes in translation or summary. Always check the original article.
- No accounts, no tracking cookies, no analytics. We don't collect personal data.
